Michael Sank Will Lead Session at the
Association of Language Companies (ALC) Annual Conference
NEW YORK, NY, April 28, 2008 – TransPerfect, the largest privately-owned language services company in the world, today announced that Michael Sank, the company's Vice President of Corporate Strategy, will moderate a panel of former and current translation business owners entitled Diversifying Risk and Creating Opportunities for You and Your Staff – Why Business Owners Choose to Sell their Company at the 2008 Annual Conference of The Association of Language Companies (ALC). The event will be held May 14-17 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.
The ALC is a unique national trade organization representing businesses that provide translation, interpretation, localization, and language training services. A dynamic group of entrepreneurs founded the association in 2002 for the purpose of delivering timely information that generates more sales, increases profits for its members, and raises awareness of the industry.
Sank brings over 10 years of experience in the localization industry, as well as an extensive M&A track record, to the panel. As Vice President of Corporate Strategy for TransPerfect, Sank has successfully negotiated merger transactions with Crimson, ArchiText, and iSP. Working with incoming management, Sank has also contributed to the integration, retention of staff, growth, and overall success of these merger partners within the TransPerfect framework. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), and has previously spoken on M&A and international expansion at such events as Localization World and the GALA Annual Meeting.
TransPerfect Co-Founder and CEO Liz Elting noted, "As a newer member of the ALC, we're pleased to contribute in any way we can to the success of the organization's annual conference. The ALC should be commended for their role in raising translation industry awareness and for providing an annual forum at which industry participants can meet and exchange knowledge and ideas."
